Active pattern continues with chances for showers and thunderstorms
through the day today. A Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms, a
level 2 out of 5, is in effect, with the greatest threat area being
east of the Missouri River. Large hail up to two inches in diameter
will be the main threat, along with wind gusts of 60 miles per hour.
Tornadoes will also be possible, with the main threat area being the
James River Valley. Any slow moving storms may also produce heavy
rainfall that leads to flash flooding, especially over areas that
have received decent amounts of rain over the last few days.

Another Slight Risk for severe thunderstorms will be in effect south
of U.S. Highway 12 Thursday evening. Large hail up to two inches in
diameter will be the main threat, with wind gusts of 60 miles per
hour as a secondary threat.

Today, highs will range from the upper 70s over north central South
Dakota to the low to mid 80s over the rest of the listening area.
Overnight tonight, lows will range from the mid 50s to the lower
60s.
