A system will bring an isolated chance of showers and thunderstorms
tonight mainly over the western half of Corson County. Some of these
storms could become strong to severe with the main threat being
quarter sized hail and wind gusts of 60 mph in this area. Otherwise,
the rest of the listening area will remain dry with lows in the
lower to mid 70s. One more day of the heat and humidity on Friday
with highs in the upper 80s to the mid 90s and dewpoints continuing
in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Heat indices should remain below 100
degrees.

Showers and thunderstorms will develop over central South Dakota
Friday afternoon with these storms moving over the eastern half of
SD Friday evening into early Saturday morning. Lingering showers and
storms are possible over far eastern SD and western MN through
Saturday afternoon. The main threat is heavy rain as rainfall amounts
of 1 to 2 inches is possible along and east of the Missouri River.
Localized areas could exceed 2 inches, especially over portions of
north central through northeastern SD into west central MN. There a
marginal risk, level 1 out of 5, for severe weather mainly along and
east of the Missouri River Friday afternoon through Friday night with
the main threat being wind gusts of 60 to possibly 70 mph.
