A stalled out frontal boundary across southern south dakota will
continue to lead to on and off chances for showers and thunderstorms
through the weekend. There will be drier periods during the mid
morning to late afternoon hours, with most storms occurring during
the evening and overnight hours. Some storms will be strong to
severe, with damaging wind gusts of 60 mph, large hail around the
size of quarters, and locally heavy rainfall are possible. There is a
Slight Risk, or level 2 of 5 for severe storms from central South
Dakota to the James River, and a Marginal Risk, or level 1 of 5, for
the rest of the area.

Summer like temperatures and muggy conditions will persist for the
next few days.

Highs temperatures today will reach the upper 70s to mid 80s east
river and the mid 80s to low 90s to the west. Lows tonight will be in
the mid to upper 60 degrees.
