231 PM CDT Fri Jul 4 2025 /131 PM MDT Fri Jul 4 2025/

Showers and thunderstorms will move toward the east and northeast the
remainder of today into tonight across central and northeast South
Dakota and west central Minnesota. Areas in central South Dakota will
primarily see these threats through late afternoon and locales
farther east in the James Valley and points east will see storms from
late in the afternoon through the evening. Some storms will be strong
to severe with strong wind gusts and heavy rain the primary threats
with isolated large hail the lesser of the 3 threats. All this
activity will clear and move east of the listening area overnight
with only leftover showers lingering in the east Saturday morning.
More rounds of showers and storms will be possible late Saturday into
early Sunday across central South Dakota.

Lows tonight will fall into the 60s to near 70 degrees. Highs on
Saturday will reach the upper 70s to low 80s east to the mid to upper
80s west.
