The center of a surface high pressure system will be moving east of
the area today across parts of Minnesota into the western Great
lakes. A southeast wind will develop and turn occasionally gusty at
times through the afternoon. Clouds will continue to filter across
the region and thicken by the afternoon and evening hours. A series
of disturbances are forecast to move through the region tonight
through Thursday leading to a return of showers and thunderstorms.
Some storms could be strong to severe late tonight into early
Wednesday and then again by Wednesday afternoon and Wednesday night.
Drier conditions will return by late Thursday into Friday.

Highs today will range from the 70s in most locations to low 80s
across central South Dakota. Lows tonight will be in the upper 50s to
low 60s. Highs on Wednesday will be cooler in the upper 60s to mid
70s thanks to ample cloud cover and precipitation.
