Hot temperatures and dry conditions will persist today across central and northeast South Dakota and west central Minnesota. As afternoon temperature readings climb into the mid to upper 90s and dew point temperatures fall into the 50s, minimum relative humidity values will fall to between 20 and 25 percent across parts of north central South Dakota and adjacent West River areas. Gusty winds will top out between 20-30 mph during the afternoon and this combined with the drying fuels will lead to elevated fire weather conditions.
