.DISCUSSION...

A couple of rounds of weather are anticipated over the next few
days, along with increasing temperatures and humidity. Readings
today will top out around 80 across northeast South Dakota and
western minnesota to mid 90s in central South Dakota, with humidity
falling to around 30 percent in central South Dakota, and closer to
40 to 60 percent elsewhere.

Expect a round of isolated showers and weak storms to cross the
region early today, with another round developing out west this
afternoon and proceeding east through the evening.

...MODERATE FIRE DANGER...

Marginal weather conditions or lowering moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that there is
some potential for a fire to spread.  Any outdoor burning should be
closely monitored.


The outlook for Thursday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Thursday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
