.DISCUSSION...

With a frontal boundary parking itself across southern South
Dakota, there will be chances for showers and storms into the mid
morning today and then another round this evening through the
overnight and on Sunday. Some of these storms have the potential to
become strong to severe, with the strongest storms capable of
producing winds around 60 mph and hail up to the size of quarters.

Winds of up to 20 mph will continue to be from the northeast to
easterly direction though the day, with non-thunderstorm wind gusts
up to 25 mph. Minimum relative humidity values will mainly stay over
60 percent Saturday and Sunday, except for portions of south central
South Dakota. This are could see relative humidity values drop down
around 45 to 50 percent.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low. Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.

The outlook for Sunday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
