Winds will shift southwesterly west to east across the forecast area today with gusts 15 to 25 mph, highest over north central SD. Winds will then be more southerly for Sunday. Dry conditions are expected through the weekend. Afternoon relative humidity values will range from 40 to 55% this afternoon and between 25 and 50% Sunday afternoon with lowest values over north central SD. Unfavorable weather conditions and low moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that there is high potential for a fire to spread.
