Winds will start out of the west and become northwesterly during the day from northwest to southeast as a cold front moves across the region. Gusts will be between 30-35 mph. Some showers and thunderstorms will be possible across eastern SD this afternoon and evening, although no severe weather is expected at this time. Afternoon relative humidity values will be between about 20 and 30% west of the James River and 30 to 35% east of the James River. Grassland Fire Danger Index remains in the Low category. This weekend will be cooler, with northwest winds Saturday reaching 35 to 40 mph mainly west of the James River. Afternoon relative humidity values Saturday will be in the 35 to 45% range and Sunday will be a little lower, in the 25 to 30% range.
