Strong south winds developing across the region will prevail today. Expect 20 to 35 mph sustained winds with gusts up to 40 to 45 mph at times. The strongest winds will be over central and north central South Dakota. Fortunately, relative humidity values will range from near 50 percent to near 80 percent today, with humidity increasing later tonight. Rain is expected to develop and spread up across the central and northern plains tonight into Wednesday. Rainfall amounts of 0.02 to near 0.40 inches are forecast across the region.
