.DISCUSSION...

There will be drier conditions during the morning and into the
afternoon before the chance for showers and storms to move in from
western South Dakota increases for later in the afternoon into the
evening. These storms have the ability to be strong to severe, and
capable of producing large hail, damaging wind gusts, and locally
heavy rainfall.

Winds will mainly be from the north during the morning and shift to
be from the east to southeast during the afternoon and evening.
These winds will be around and less than 10 mph, with gusts up to 15
mph. Minimum relative humidity values will be in the 60s in the
James River Valley and east. To the west, values are between 55 to
40 percent, with the lowest relative humidity values in south
central South Dakota.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Tuesday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
