304 FNUS63 KABR 310738 RFDABR Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Aberdeen SD 238 AM CDT Sun May 31 2026 .DISCUSSION... Low Grassland Fire Danger is expected this afternoon, mainly due to showers and storms keeping mositure high (afternoon humidity generally above 50%, with values down to 35-45% over parts of central South Dakota). Storms may produce cloud to ground lightning at times, but in general expecting coverage to be scattered at best through the afternoon and evening. Southeasterly winds remain fairly gusty this afternoon as well, up to 25 to 30 miles per hour over most of the area. Winds will begin to shift overnight tonight, eventually settling into northwesterly flow by Monday morning. Gusts Monday peak around 25 miles per hour, and minimum afternoon humidity will reach around 35-50%. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the probability of a fast moving fire is low.
