Rangeland Fire Danger Statement
National Weather Service Aberdeen SD
443 AM CDT Wed Sep 18 2024

.DISCUSSION...

Critical fire weather conditions are expected to develop today as
gusty winds combine with a drying air mass leading to very high fire
danger for portions of central South Dakota, especially areas west
river. Increasing southerly winds will turn southwesterly in the
afternoon across central South Dakota which will help to pull in the
drier air mass. Minimum relative humidity values will bottom out
between 15-25 percent with the lowest values occurring in west river
areas. A Red Flag Warning has been posted for these areas this
afternoon into early this evening.

these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.

will reach the low category.
