473 FNUS63 KABR 080709 RFDABR Rangeland Fire Danger Statement National Weather Service Aberdeen SD 209 AM CDT Sat Aug 8 2026 .DISCUSSION... Winds will be out of the south today as a warm air moves in behind a warm front. Sustained winds of up around 15 mph will be gusting up around 25 mph during the afternoon. During the evening and overnight hours, another frontal boundary will move through causing the winds to shift to be from the east and northeast. Minimum relative humidity values west of the Missouri River will be between 20-35 percent. Areas to the east of the Missouri River will be between 35-50% humidity during the afternoon. There will be two round/chances for showers and storms today. The first round will be this morning mainly over south central South Dakota. The second round will be this evening overnight into Sunday morning over areas west of the Missouri River. There is a Marginal risk (level 1 of 5) for these storms to be severe if anything is able to develop. Lightning will be a hazard for both rounds of storms as well as hail up to 1 inch and 60 mph wind gusts. Any outdoor burning should be closely monitored.
