High pressure builds into the region today bringing relief from the recent heat and humidity. Northwest winds will turn gusty at times by the midday and afternoon hours. Afternoon minimum relative humidity values will range between 30-45 percent across most of the area. East to southeast winds will return on Tuesday along with increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms by late Tuesday into early Wednesday. Minimum relative humidity values Tuesday afternoon will range between 35-40 percent across northern sections of South Dakota. Rain chances persist through Thursday before drier conditions return Friday.
