.DISCUSSION...

Today will be cool and breezy again with northwest wind gusts of 15
to 25 mph. Afternoon humidity drops between 25 and 30 percent along
and west of the Missouri River with locations east of the river
between 30 to 40 percent. Even drier air moves in over the entire
region for Thursday with afternoon relative humidity dropping
between 20 to 25 percent. Winds will be out of the south and
southwest Thursday morning before switching westerly late morning,
then northwesterly by the afternoon. Milder, near seasonal
temperatures return for the latter half of the work week.

...MODERATE FIRE DANGER...

Marginal weather conditions or lowering moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that there is
some potential for a fire to spread.  Any outdoor burning should be
closely monitored.


The outlook for Thursday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.

...LOW FIRE DANGER...

Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture content of grasses,
and other dry organic material on the ground, indicate that the
probability of a fast moving fire is low.  Outdoor burning under
these conditions can usually be performed with reasonable safety
precautions, but should be monitored.


The outlook for Thursday afternoon...The grassland fire danger index
will reach the low category.
