029 FNUS73 KABR 011036 FWSABR Spot Forecast for North Red Iron Lake Middle...US Fish and Wildlife Service National Weather Service Aberdeen SD 536 AM CDT Sun Jun 1 2025 Forecast is based on ignition time of 0800 CDT on June 01. If conditions become unrepresentative...contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION...Smoke over the North Red Iron Lake Middle area should remain near the surface, but may not be as thick this afternoon. Visibility early this morning has been around 2 miles across portions of Marshall County and into North Dakota. Winds will increase out of the southwest this afternoon around 9 to 12 mph as relative humidity falls to 38 percent. If smoke remains thicker this afternoon, temperatures will not be as warm, and relative humidity values will stay in the 40 percent range. Our dry weather will be changing Monday, with showers and thunderstorms becoming likely in the afternoon into the evening. There is a 75 percent chance of 0.25 inches of rain or more Monday afternoon through Monday evening. The main concern will be with any remaining fires Monday afternoon and evening as a cold front moves through. There is significant uncertainty on timing of the cold front, which could be as early as 1300 or closer to 1800 Monday. The cold front will be a rapid wind shift, with winds shifting out of the north to northwest and gusting near 40 mph. A few strong to near severe storms will also be possible Monday afternoon and evening, with the strongest storms expected to stay east of the fire area at this time. .REST OF TODAY...
