.DISCUSSION...

Hot, but not quite as windy, conditions will once again develop on
Wednesday across central and northeast South Dakota and west central
Minnesota. Minimum afternoon relative humidity values will fall into
the 25 to 30 percent range throughout and east of the James River
valley region. Further west, higher moisture content air will help
to keep the humidity around 35 to 55 percent. Elevated fire weather
conditions will persist on Wednesday across northeast South Dakota
and west central Minnesota on Wednesday.

Also, a cold front will enter the Missouri River valley region of
South Dakota Wednesday afternoon and slowly begin to push across the
state through Wednesday night. Lighter winds are expected tonight
into Wednesday near this frontal boundary, and increasing chances
for showers and storms will be possible later tonight over Corson
and Dewey counties. A better chance for more widespread
precipitation is possible Wednesday afternoon into Thursday. Winds
will shift from south ahead of the front to west or northwest behind
the passing cold front Wednesday and Wednesday night.
