.DISCUSSION...

A mainly dry ridge of high pressure will dominate our weather Today.
Temperatures will top out in the mid 80s to mid 90s, with the warmer
conditions over central South Dakota, where relative humidity values
will drop into the 35 to 40 percent range. Over eastern South Dakota
and west central Minnesota, relative humidity will stay above 50
percent. Winds this afternoon will remain light, generally around 10
mph or less out of the east to north-northeasterly direction.

The ridge of high pressure will exit east Wednesday, with increasing
winds out of the south gusting 25 to 30 mph over central South
Dakota Wednesday afternoon. Relative humidity values will drop to 30
to 40 percent over central South Dakota, while remaining high still
east. The passage of a low pressure system and cold front late
Thursday afternoon through Thursday night will bring winds quickly
shifting from out of the south to out of the north, along with a 40
to 70 percent chance of showers and storms.
