.DISCUSSION...

Hot and muggy for today as high temperatures will range in the upper
80s to the mid 90s and dewpoints in the 60s. Strong winds again
today out of the south and southeast with gusts of 30 to 50 mph west
of Interstate 29. Highest gusts of 45 to 50 mph will be over portions
of north central South Dakota. Afternoon relative humidity will drop
between 30 to 50%, lowest over central South Dakota. Showers and
thunderstorms will move across the region this evening through late
tonight. Scattered to numerous severe storms are possible, mainly
over central South Dakota. Main threats include hail, one to two
inches in diameter, and wind gusts of 70+ mph. Heavy rain is also
possible as well that could lead to flooding.

Winds will diminish through the day on Monday with afternoon
relative humidity dropping between 25 to 55%, lowest along and west
of the Missouri River. Showers and thunderstorms are possible again
James Valley and eastward in the morning and again in the afternoon
through the evening.
