...The National Weather Service in Aberdeen SD has issued a Flood
Warning for the following rivers in South Dakota...

  Big Sioux River at Watertown Sioux Conifer Road affecting
  Codington County.

.For sites with a river forecast, the forecast includes
precipitation through the next 24 hours. Any future precipitation
could affect the forecasts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON TO TOMORROW EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Big Sioux River at Watertown Sioux Conifer Road.

* WHEN...From this afternoon to tomorrow evening.

* IMPACTS...At 8.0 feet, Minor lowland flooding begins, mainly
  upstream of the gauge.
  At 10.0 feet, Significant amounts of pasture land are flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 12:15 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 9.1 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 12:15 PM CDT Thursday was 9.1 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 9.4
    feet this evening. It will then fall below flood stage early
    tomorrow afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 9.0 feet.
