...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in South
Dakota...

  James River at Columbia affecting Brown County.

.For sites with a river forecast, the forecast includes
precipitation through the next 24 hours. Any future precipitation
could affect the forecasts.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

The next statement will be issued by Thursday afternoon at 500 PM
CDT.

...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...James River at Columbia.

* WHEN...Until further notice.

* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, flooding of the lower lying agricultural
  areas begins.
  At 15.0 feet, significant amounts of agricultural lands are flooded.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 AM CDT Wednesday the stage was 14.4 feet.
  - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
    ending at 8:00 AM CDT Wednesday was 14.4 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 14.5
    feet just after midnight tonight.
  - Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
