North Central Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico... * Until 500 PM MDT. * At 418 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 10 miles north of Mesa, or 37 miles southwest of Fort Sumner, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Two inch hail and 70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles.
