The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...
  Northeastern Torrance County in central New Mexico...
  Northwestern Guadalupe County in east central New Mexico...
  Southwestern San Miguel County in northeastern New Mexico...

* Until 615 PM MDT.

* At 527 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 13 miles south of
  Villanueva State Park, or 34 miles north of Vaughn, moving
  southeast at 15 mph.

  HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
           roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...
  Milagro.

This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 226 and 244.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds and large
hail.

Motorists can expect brief but sudden changes in visibility and
ponding of water on roadways as storms move through the area.
