...AN AREA OF STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT SOUTHEASTERN LOS
ALAMOS...EAST CENTRAL SANDOVAL AND NORTHWESTERN SANTA FE COUNTIES
UNTIL 630 PM MDT...

At 556 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking an area of strong
thunderstorms near Cochiti Lake, or 12 miles south of Los Alamos,
moving northeast at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.

Locations impacted include...
  Los Alamos, White Rock, Frijoles, Bandelier National Monument,
  Cochiti Lake, Cochiti Pueblo and Pena Blanca.

This includes the following recreation areas...
Bandelier National Monument and Tent Rocks National Monument.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.

Accumulations of small hail on roads can create very slick and
hazardous driving conditions.
