Five to ten hours of single-digit relative humidity will occur in the southern portion of the Middle Rio Grande Valley zone today where the risk of rapid fire spread will be highest. A few showers may enhance wind gusts at times this afternoon, creating erratic fire behavior. Southwest winds strengthen further Sunday, expanding the area of critical fire weather to west-central NM and the central highlands. Minimum humidity again falls into the single-digits for five to ten hours on Sunday in south-central NM.
