THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY AND THE SANDIA/MANZANO MOUNTAINS DUE
TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER...

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM LATE SUNDAY MORNING UNTIL
SUNDAY EVENING FOR THE MIDDLE RIO GRANDE VALLEY, WEST CENTRAL
BASIN AND RANGE, SANDIA/MANZANO MOUNTAINS, AND CENTRAL HIGHLANDS,
DUE TO STRONG WINDS, LOW HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER...

.Southwest to west winds will increase this afternoon, with gusts
of 30 to 40 mph overlapping with an area of single digit relative
humidity in south-central New Mexico. Five to ten hours of
single-digit relative humidity will occur in the southern portion
of the Middle Rio Grande Valley zone today where the risk of rapid
fire spread will be highest. A few showers may enhance wind gusts
at times this afternoon, creating erratic fire behavior. Southwest
winds strengthen further Sunday, expanding the area of critical
fire weather to west-central NM and the central highlands. Minimum
humidity again falls into the single-digits for five to ten hours
on Sunday in south-central NM.

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 9 PM MDT SUNDAY...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag
Warning...which is in effect from 11 AM to 9 PM MDT Sunday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AREA AND TIMING...Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106) and Sandia
  and Manzano Mountains (Zone 124) today from 12PM to 7PM MDT and
  Sunday from 11AM to 9PM MDT.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40
  mph today. Southwest to west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts to
  45 mph on Sunday.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...6 to 12 percent both today and Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag
Warning...which is in effect from 11 AM to 9 PM MDT Sunday. The
Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* AREA AND TIMING...West Central Basin and Range (Zone 109) and
  Central Highlands (Zone 125) Sunday from 11AM to 9PM MDT.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest to west winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts
  to 40 mph, except gusts as high as 50 mph in the Central
  Highlands.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...9 to 13 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.
