URGENT - FIRE WEATHER MESSAGE

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH MONDAY FROM 1 TO 7 PM FOR THE NORTHEAST
PLAINS DUE TO STRONG WIND AND LOW HUMIDITY...

.Southwest surface winds will gust around 40 mph across the
Northeast Plains on Monday in response to a potent surface trough
developing in the lee of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Humidities
will also plummet below 15 percent as high temperatures climb up
to 9 degrees above 30-year averages. Harding and Union Counties
received little or no precipitation from the storm system that
crossed Saturday and Saturday night. Radar estimated rain amounts
across eastern San Miguel County varied around 0.05-0.50 of an
inch with the heaviest amounts along the southern edge of the
county.

MONDAY EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Fire
Weather Watch...which is in effect from Monday afternoon through
Monday evening.

* AREA AND TIMING...Northeast Plains (Zone 104) Friday from 1 to 7
  PM MDT.

* 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts around 40
  mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Around 12 percent.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Please advise the appropriate officials or fire crews in the
field of this Fire Weather Watch.
