Elevated fire weather conditions are expected on Sunday and Monday across western and central NM, with the highest probability across the Four Corners region. Mountain showers and storms will develop again this afternoon and diminish around sunset, while thunderstorms will also develop over the northeast plains through mid to late evening. Notably drier air will invade the state for Sunday through Monday, allowing for long duration single digit humidities (8-13 hours) in combination with extremely poor overnight recoveries in the west. Fuels will likely dry out during this period. Monsoon moisture will slowly creep back into the area for mid to late week, allowing for a slow incremental increase in storm coverage, especially for the higher terrain. Poor wetting footprints can be expected, resulting in new lightning fire starts as well as gusty and erratic outflows. ................................................................
