331 FNUS55 KABQ 040719 FWFABQ Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 119 AM MDT Sat Oct 4 2025 .DISCUSSION... Moderate to strong southerly to southwesterly wind gusts forecast this afternoon with widespread peak gusts of 30 to 40 mph. Strongest peak gusts of 35 to 50 mph will focus through the northeastern highlands and plains. Any showers and thunderstorms will focus over the northwestern plateau and northern mountains this morning thru this afternoon. Winds taper off tonight with modest southerly to southwesterly breezes Sunday afternoon. Colder low temperatures in the 30s are forecast across areas along and west of the Continental Divide and northern mountain and valley areas Sunday morning. Increasing precipitation chances arrive Monday through Wednesday, first focusing over east-central and northeastern NM Monday before expanding westward to central NM Tuesday and Wednesday. Lighter prevailing winds will be present during this time. Drier conditions forecast Thursday and Friday before another round of increased shower and thunderstorm activity is possible next weekend. ................................................................
