A monsoon plume of moisture across the western half of the area will bring increased chances for showers and thunderstorms, abundant cloud cover and lower temperatures to the area through Monday. Gusty and erratic winds and brief heavy rainfall will be common with the stronger storms. Meanwhile, hot and mostly dry conditions will persist across the east. Drier air moves into western NM on Tuesday and further eastward into NM on Wednesday. Storm coverage will dwindle across the west on Tuesday but scattered storms remain possible along and east of the Central Mountain Chain. By Wednesday, storm coverage will dwindle areawide. A slight uptick in storm coverage is possible Thursday and moreso Friday, but temperatures will also trend back upward toward the end of the week. ................................................................
