Strong northwest winds with low humidity over parts of eastern NM will generate critical fire weather today. Strong southwest winds Thursday with lower humidity over more of the region will lead to critical fire weather along and east of the Rio Grande Valley. A powerful storm system will move through Friday with potentially damaging west wind gusts of 65 to 75 mph. Humidity values may be low enough for more critical fire weather over east-central NM. Snow and blowing snow will impact the high terrain of northern and western NM with several inches possible. Northwest winds will take over on Saturday with additional snow possible for the northern and western high terrain. A break is expected Sunday followed by another possible fire growing pattern Monday and Tuesday. ................................................................
