The focus this week will shift toward greater coverage of showers and thunderstorms with locally heavy rainfall, especially toward mid to late week. Seven day rainfall amounts are expected to average 1 to 2" over the entire region with locally higher amounts over 3" near the high terrain. This rainfall will provide a significant advantage to current fire operations and limit any new fire starts by the end of the week. The risk for flash flooding will also increase, especially around burn scars. ................................................................
