864 FNUS55 KABQ 030821 FWFABQ Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 221 AM MDT Sun Aug 3 2025 .DISCUSSION... Elevated fire weather conditions will develop this afternoon and again on Monday afternoon over western and central New Mexico as very low humidity combines with gusty winds during peak heating. In fact, these same areas should experience an extended period of single digit humidities and poor to fair overnight recoveries. In the meantime, near record to record heat will develop and should persist through much of the week, drying out fuels. Monsoon moisture will attempt to creep back into the state, which will increase storm chances, particularly in the west and north. A mixture of wet and dry cells will be favored along with gusty and erratic winds. With limited wetting footprints, new fire starts is expected to be a concern. ................................................................
