919 FNUS55 KABQ 242008 FWFABQ Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 208 PM MDT Sun Aug 24 2025 .DISCUSSION... Similar to yesterday, showers and thunderstorms are once again favoring the northern half of New Mexico today with slow-moving downpours. Storms will reduce some this evening, but scattered activity will likely survive into the morning Monday. A weak front will then move in from the northeast on Monday, bringing an increase in strong storms over the northern and western mountains. Storms will continue expanding over more of western and central New Mexico on Tuesday and Wednesday with high chances for soaking rainfall in these areas. The cloudy and rainy conditions will also be accompanied with cooler temperatures Tuesday, and more-so on Wednesday. High humidity of 80 percent or greater will be observed nearly area wide Monday night, Tuesday night, and also Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Some drier air will start to enter far western New Mexico late Thursday into Friday reducing storms there, but scattered storms will persist over most remaining areas of the state. ................................................................
