521 FNUS55 KABQ 031914 FWFABQ Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 114 PM MDT Sun Aug 3 2025 .DISCUSSION... Elevated fire weather conditions are present across much of western and northwestern NM where single-digit humidity and breezy winds are being observed this afternoon, and are expected again Monday afternoon. Isolated strong to severe thunderstorms favoring development over far eastern NM this afternoon will quickly move east into TX by this evening. Moisture in this area of the state will advance back west tonight bringing good to excellent humidity recoveries east of the central mountain chain Monday morning. High pressure centers itself squarely over the state Tuesday allowing for moderate to major heat risk as highs in lower elevation areas climb to the upper 90s to low 100s. Virga showers and a stray dry thunderstorm will favor areas along the Continental Divide Tuesday afternoon, expanding to portions of northern NM Wednesday thru Friday. Stray and erratic gusty winds and dry lightning will be the main threat from this activity. ................................................................
