With a strong high pressure system persisting overhead, record and near-record high temperatures are forecast for the next seven days. Critically low minimum humidities will be pretty widespread over east-central areas again today, then increase in coverage over central and northwest areas Monday and Tuesday with an increasing risk of new fire starts from spotty storms there. Gulf moisture will increase along and east of the central mountain chain starting Monday, shifting the focus for showers and storms there by Tuesday. Wednesday and Thursday will feature increased storm coverage areawide as thunderstorm outflows from the east spread modest Gulf moisture into western areas. ................................................................
