A potent Fall storm will impact the area today through Sunday night. Wetting rainfall is likely areawide and locations along and east of the central mountain chain could see in excess of 2" over the next couple of days. Severe storms with large hail and damaging winds are possible in the eastern plains today, tonight, and again Saturday. Gusty southerly winds are expected today, with the strongest winds along the Rio Grande Valley. Winds should begin to weaken this weekend and eventually become light by early next week as the storm exits to the east. Several inches of snow area possible above 10,000ft in the northern mountains over the next few days, with a rain/snow mix down to 9,000ft. Warmer and drier conditions return early next week and should persist through at least the middle part of the week.
