Very hot and dry weather will continue today with humidity falling below 15% over parts of northern and western NM. Fortunately, winds will remain light outside of thunderstorm outflows. Rainfall amounts will still be on the lighter side from most storms. More wildfire starts may occur from lightning strikes in dry fuels. The coverage of showers and storms is likely to trend greater beginning Tuesday with larger footprints of heavy rainfall over northern and western NM. An active monsoon pattern may impact the region through the end of the week as high pressure shifts east of NM. ................................................................
