Near critical fire weather conditions continue across northwest New Mexico due to a combination of low humidity and breezy west winds. Across western New Mexico, virga showers and dry thunderstorms have the possibility of creating gusty and erratic outflow winds as well as dry lightning and new fire starts. Saturday remains similar to today, though with lesser coverage of each variable and a slightly higher chance of wetting footprints over southwest New Mexico. Moisture further increases Sunday and next week as a more traditional monsoon setup occurs. ................................................................
