038 FNUS55 KABQ 080743 FWFABQ Fire Weather Planning Forecast for North and Central New Mexico National Weather Service Albuquerque NM 143 AM MDT Tue Sep 8 2026 .DISCUSSION... Thunderstorm chances will be highest over the west central and southwestern mountains today, as well as the central mountain chain into the northeastern plains. Storms will be slow-moving and capable of producing brief heavy downpours, but storms will also be fairly discrete and not very widespread. Temperatures will be near to above normal by 5 to 10 degrees today, and afternoon humidity will fall to around 20 to 30 percent before recovering to about 60 to 80% tonight. Storms will redevelop in similar areas again on Wednesday, but they should expand into more of the eastern plains during the late afternoon and evening hours. Less storm activity, hotter than normal temperatures, and much lower afternoon humidity are all expected on Thursday and Friday. Isolated to scattered storms will then return this weekend with temperatures returning closer to normal. ................................................................
