With a strong high pressure system persisting overhead, record and near-record high temperatures are forecast for the next seven days. Critically low minimum humidities will be pretty widespread over eastern areas today and Sunday. Sub-15 percent humidities will then increase in coverage with each day over central and western areas during the work week with an increasing risk of new fire starts from spotty storms there. Along and east of the central mountain chain, critically low humidities will decrease in coverage daily, and thunderstorms will increase in coverage, with the arrival of Gulf moisture. ................................................................
