...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of north central New Mexico, including the
  following county, northern Santa Fe.

* WHEN...Until 1000 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 659 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
    ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area.
    Between 1 and 1.75 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1.25 inches are
    possible in the warned area.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Santa Fe, White Rock, Tesuque, Rio En Medio in Santa Fe
    County, Hyde Memorial State Park, La Cienega, Agua Fria,
    Chupadero and San Ildefonso Pueblo.
  - Areas along the Rio Tesuque and along arroyos within the
    Santa Fe Metro area.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Arroyos, streams, and normally dry rivers can become raging killer
currents in a matter of minutes. Water in arroyos can travel many
miles and take hours to reach your location from upstream rain areas.
