...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1045 PM MDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast New Mexico,
  including the following counties, in east central New Mexico,
  southeastern Curry and central Roosevelt. In southeast New Mexico,
  northeastern Chaves.

* WHEN...Until 1045 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 738 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream
    flooding. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Clovis, Portales, Elida, Oasis State Park, Cannon Air Force
    Base, Kenna, Ranchvale, Floyd and Portair.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
