Central Socorro County in central New Mexico... * Until 530 PM MDT. * At 135 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Socorro and Escondida. This includes the following highways... Highway 60 between Mile Markers 118 and 132...and between Mile Markers 135 and 137. Interstate 25 near Mile Marker 126...and near Mile Marker 152. All arroyos and streams flowing eastward off the Magdalena Mountains will be impacted by flash flooding, including Water Canyon, Six Mile Canyon, and Ryan Hill Canyon.
