The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Quay County in east central New Mexico...

* Until 1045 PM MDT.

* At 836 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated additional thunderstorms
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 5 inches of
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.75 inches
  are possible in the warned area by 930 PM. Flash flooding is
  expected to continue.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Mainly rural areas of Central Quay County.

Flash flooding will impact Barranca Creek downstream to the Route
278 and I-40 crossings.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings.
