...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM NOON MDT TODAY THROUGH LATE TONIGHT...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Quay County in east central New Mexico and the Southwest
  Mountains and San Augustin Plains and Adjacent Lowlands in
  southwest New Mexico.

* WHEN...From noon MDT today through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Numerous showers and storms will develop across the higher
    terrain late this morning, expanding in coverage across
    central and eastern New Mexico through the afternoon and
    evening. Heavy rainfall rates of up to three inches per hour
    are possible at times. Heavy rain from thunderstorms are
    expected to last well into tonight across the Southwest
    Mountains and San Augustin Plains and across Quay County
    early Wednesday morning.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...A portion of south central New Mexico, including Ruidoso
  and the burn scars surrounding the village.

* WHEN...Through Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water
  crossings and village streets may be flooded. Storm drains and
  ditches may become clogged with debris.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Multiple rounds of heavy rainfall on top of saturated soils
    from Monday`s rainfall may result in catastrophic and life-
    threatening flash flooding as a rich monsoon plume remains
    over the area. Rainfall rates of up to 3 inches per hour are
    possible at times. Though chances for flooding and heavy
    rainfall are generally higher in the afternoon, precipitation
    will occur on and off during the rest of the daytime and
    nighttime hours. Areas within and downstream of the Blue 2,
    McBride, South Fork and Salt burn scars will be especially
    susceptible to flooding and debris flows.

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and southeast New Mexico,
  including Roswell, Clovis, Portales and Fort Sumner.

* WHEN...Through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
  in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - After the heavy rainfall on Sunday and Monday, portions of
    east central and southeast New Mexico will be especially
    vulnerable to additional rainfall from showers and
    thunderstorm activity through Wednesday morning. Rainfall
    rates may be as high as 3 inches per hour. Multiple rounds of
    precipitation are expected.

* WHERE...Much of central and northern New Mexico, including the
  Albuquerque and Santa Fe metro areas and the Hermits Peak Calf
  Canyon burn scar.

* WHEN...From noon MDT today through late tonight.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Numerous showers and storms will develop across the higher
    terrain late this morning, expanding in coverage across
    central and northern New Mexico through the afternoon and
    evening. Heavy rainfall rates of one to three inches per hour
    are possible at times. Heavy rainfall over the Hermits Peak
    Calf Canyon burn scar may create flooding on and below the
    burn area. In addition, heavy rainfall in the Albuquerque and
    Santa Fe metro areas may create rapid rises on area arroyos
    and flood control channels. Heavy rain from thunderstorms are
    expected to last well into tonight and early Wednesday
    morning across central New Mexico.
