This includes the Hermits Peak Calf Canyon burn scar and Ruidoso area burn scars. * WHEN...From Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms will produce locally heavy rainfall, with rates of up to 2 to 3 inches per hour, over the Hermits Peak Calf Canyon burn scar and Ruidoso area burn scars beginning midday Sunday through sunset. In northeast New Mexico, Northeast Highlands. * WHEN...Until 9 PM MDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Storm drains and ditches may become clogged with debris. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms will produce locally heavy rainfall, with rates of up to 2 to 3 inches per hour, over the Hermits Peak Calf Canyon burn scar this afternoon through mid this evening. There is a high risk for flash flooding on and below the burn scar. For the Ruidoso area burn scars, storms across the south central highlands and lower Rio Grande Valley could reach the area this evening around 6 PM local time. These storms will be capable of producing heavy rainfall and potential flash flooding on the burn scars.
