Air Quality Alert Message

...AIR QUALITY ALERT...

The smoke plume from the Greer Wildfire over eastern Arizona will
continue to spread over portions of western and central NM overnight.

* WHAT...Unhealthy air quality levels for sensitive groups due to
  wildfire smoke.

* WHERE...Areas from the Arizona border north of Red Hill,
  northeastward to Fence Lake, El Morro, Acoma Pueblo, Albuquerque and
  the Sandia and Manzano Mountains.

* WHEN...Tonight through 10 am Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...For sensitive groups, limit intense or lengthy physical
  activity. It`s OK to be active outside by take more breaks and do
  less intense activities. Watch for symptoms such as coughing or
  shortness of breath. For people with asthma, follow your asthma
  action plan, if applicable, and keep quick relief medicine handy.
  Watch for symptoms and take action if needed. For people with heart
  disease, symptoms such as a fast pulse or heartbeat, shortness of
  breath, or unusual weakness may indicate a health problem. If you
  have any of these, call your health care provider.

* HEALTH INFORMATION...Remember,your eyes are your best tools to
  determine if it is safe to be outside. Use the 5-3-1 Method

If visibility is:

Under 5 miles, the air quality is unhealthy for young children,
adults over age 65, pregnant women, and people with heart
and/or lung disease, asthma or other respiratory illness.
Outdoor activity should be minimized.

Around 3 miles, young children, adults over age 65, pregnant
women, and people with heart and/or lung disease, asthma or other
respiratory illness should avoid all outdoor activities.

Around 1 mile, the air quality is unhealthy for everyone. People
should remain indoors and avoid all outdoor activities including
running errands. Unless an evacuation has been issued, stay inside
your home, indoor workplace, or in a safe shelter.
